Many smart people are installing Volkswagen engines into their vehicles.  Most find the mechanical aspect of the conversion process easy but get messed up on the complicated electronics.  With over 20 years of automotive and computer electronics experience I am able to provide automotive harness consulting and fabrication services for both the professional shop and home mechanic to get their conversion up and running.

• Conversion of harness for use in your Volkswagen Vanagon at 15 or 50 degrees or Suzuki Samurai, with removal of all non essential items.
• Personalized manual showing harness pinouts specific to your harness.
• Bench testing of your completed harness to ensure that it works the first time!
• Vanagon:
  • ECU located under rear seat
  • OBD connector at glove box
  • Cruise control, VSS, check engine and glow plug light terminations at instrument cluster
  • Accelerator pedal connector at accelerator pedal location
• Suzuki: Component locations are where ever you would like to have them.
• We can, for an additional cost remove N18 (EGR), N239 (Anti Shudder Valve) and perform other chip tuning services.

Pricing does not include the following:

• Repair of harnesses that have been cut or damaged during removal of donor vehicle.
• Missing connectors such has sensor connectors or OBD connectors.
• Reprogramming of key if you want to retain the IMMO system
• Sourcing of missing or broken components such as glow plug relays.
• Return freight - Canada is a flat rate of $25, USA is a flat rate of $40 for Canada Post Expedited Parcel Service.

It can include software deletion of N18 (EGR), N239 (Anti-Shudder valve) or other devices that you may want to omit from your harness so that you will not get a check engine light. We keep in mind that you are not driving a Golf but a potentually fully loaded 2800kg Vanagon that feature a softer application of torque as not to overstress and prematurely wear out the gearbox. STEP 2 - Package the harness and ECU along with any accessories that are needed.

1.9L TDI - 1995 to 1999 without immobilzer
1.9L TDI - 1995 to 1999 european engine with immobilizer
1.9L TDI - 2000 to 2004 with VE injector pump
1.9L and 2.0L TDI - 2000 and later pumpe düse engines
2.0L TDI - 1999 and later with common rail
1.8T - 1997 to 1999 gasoline engine without immobilizer
1.8T - 2000 and later gasoline engine without immobilizer

STEP 3 - Ship harness via the Post Office.
We will not accept shipments sent from outside of Canada that are sent by courier! Couriers such as DHL and especially UPS will charge unreasonably high brokerage fees in the fifty dollar compared to the Post Office at five dollars and they usually take longer to get here than the Post Office - it just isn't worth the extra hassle for us to accept courier shipments. We will refuse all courier shipments that need to go through a customs broker.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are sending us a package from outside of Canada you will have to list what is in the box for customs to value the contents for taxation. Remember that you are sending the harness for repair, not selling us the harness so it is very important to fill out the manifest correctly!

Insurance: You may insure the package for what you feel it is worth.

If a package arrives that is not filled out correctly and we end up paying importation taxes you will be responsible for paying these taxes. If you filled out the manifest correctly and I get charged taxes, I will deal with the border people myself to get the moneys back as it is their fault and not yours.

When I send your harness back it will be labeled "Repaired automotive wire harness, goods returning to home country, no commercial value" so that you will not be charged any importation duty for your item.
